How much do missed calls cost your business?

78% of callers won’t leave voicemail. They hang up and call the next business in their search results. Most owners have no idea what that costs them every month, until they do the math.

Plug in your numbers below. The math runs live.

WebDevAuto annual cost reflects the CRM ($200/mo), which carries Ava and missed-call automation; AI call minutes are billed by usage.

Estimates are illustrative only, based on the inputs you provide and an assumed 80% missed-call capture rate from industry averages. Actual results depend on your market, offer, staffing, and execution, and are not a guarantee or projection of revenue.

How the calculator works

The math is straightforward, and deliberately conservative.

We assume only the net lost revenue: what you would have closed minus what voicemail callbacks recover. So the calculator is conservative; the actual loss is usually higher because:

  1. Missed-call customers often become 1-star reviews even if you do call them back
  2. The customers you miss most are the highest-urgency ones (emergencies, after-hours)
  3. Voicemail-to-callback conversion drops sharply in verticals where speed matters (HVAC emergency, legal intake, urgent dental)

For the “recovery” calculation, we assume 80% of currently-missed calls would be captured by an AI receptionist + missed-call SMS. This matches our internal data; some verticals see closer to 90-95%, some closer to 70%, depending on call patterns.

What to do with your number

The math doesn’t lie. Most small-business owners are surprised by their number, in a bad way. That’s the point of running the calculator: make the invisible leak visible, so you can decide what to do about it.

  • Under $20,000: the math may not justify the full stack yet. Start with just the Website ($150/mo) to fix the most obvious gap first.
  • $20,000 to $50,000: the CRM at $200/mo (Ava answers every call, missed-call SMS fires in 30 seconds) pays for itself in roughly 1 to 2 months of recovered calls. AI usage billed on what you use.
  • $50,000 to $100,000: add SEO ($300/mo) to compound the recovery: more inbound calls means more calls Ava can save. Or talk to us about a Custom App build.
  • Over $100,000: multi-location custom is worth a conversation. Talk to us.
